RESTORED PANEL


With reference to the symmetry of the design, it was relatively easy to work out what the missing pieces were in order to make copies. Now completed, it is difficult to tell where the new pieces are.

PRE-CONSERVATION


Once the panel had been removed from the window, it was dismantled and all the pieces laid out to give an overview of the damage and to decide what pieces were re-usable and which pieces required replacement. As you can see, many pieces were reduced to shards and needed to be replaced with new painted glass.
